New General Manager Named at Homewood Suites by Hilton Shreveport

Shreveport, LAHomewood Suites by Hilton Shreveport has named a new general manager after undergoing renovations of its guest suites.

Emma Hebert will take the reins at the Shreveport, Louisiana hotel managed by Dimension Development Company. The native of Cambridge, England has lived in the United States for just over five years and has an extensive history in the hospitality industry. She has previously served as a general manager for brands including Wyndham and Marriott before arriving at Hilton.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a beautiful hotel and can’t wait to lead the way in offering an unforgettable experience to our guests through standards, service and a little personality along the way,” Hebert said. “I believe that bringing fun into the workplace will make my team feel even more valuable, which in turn gives them the confidence to serve our guests with even more dedication.”

Hebert’s last hotel was ranked in the top 2 percent of the brand when it came to service, an accomplishment that she said she is very proud of.

When not working, Hebert enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children, ages 5 and 7, while working hard to maintain her English accent that is slowly giving way to a Southern twang.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Shreveport has just received a facelift in the last few months, with a refreshing new paint job on the exterior. Guest rooms where smoking was once allowed were also renovated as the hotel transitioned to a 100 percent smoke-free environment. Dimension Development Hires Seasoned Sales Manager as Area Director of Sales for Two Cypress Hotels

Angel Trubee has been named the new area director of sales for Courtyard by Marriott and Hampton Inn by Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Cypress, CA

Cypress, CA – Bringing 16 years of hospitality experience to the table, Angel Trubee will serve as the area director of sales for Courtyard Cypress Anaheim/Orange County and Hampton Inn Los Angeles-Orange County-Cypress.

Her career in hospitality began with Marriott in Long Beach, where she had a number of positions including restaurant hostess, front desk agent, concierge and reservations agent. She then moved to Norwalk and worked as front desk supervisor, reservations/group coordinator and sales manager before moving to Manhattan Beach.

When she’s not representing the two Cypress beauties, Trubee enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling to new places, reading up on real estate trends and attending theater and live music events.

Rick Garcia, who is originally from Chula Vista, California, trekked nearly 3,500 miles from Anchorage, Alaska to assume his brand-new managerial position.

Garcia entered the hospitality field in 2006 at Remington Hotels. Intercontinental New Orleans Boosts Sales Team With Hiring of New Director

Luxury hotel in New Orleans continues transformation with addition of Melanie Walent, boasting over 20 years of hospitality sales experience

New Orleans, LAIntercontinental New Orleans has named a new director of sales to help lead the hotel into a new season of success.

ICNOLA DOSProviding a proven track record of excellence, Melanie Walent joins the luxury New Orleans hotel from her previous role as director of sales, marketing and events at Hyatt Regency Boston. During her stint in The City on a Hill, she was responsible for the creation and execution of a $52.2 million budget and was a 2014 nominee for annual awards in the director of sales and events team categories.

“I'm excited to be returning to New Orleans, the great city where I grew up and where a lot of my family is still located,” Walent said. “The hotel has recently undergone an incredible multi-million dollar transformation, and I can't wait to work with such an amazing team to reposition it within the New Orleans market.”

Investing $26 million in a total renovation under the management of Dimension Development and General Manager John Romano, the Big Easy hotel recently added state-of-the-art meeting spaces and completed updates to its 484 luxurious guest rooms and suites as well as its first floor lobby with an exquisite restaurant and lounge. Walent said she is looking forward to the opportunity to employ her past experiences and lead the hotel toward a better future.

Before her role in Boston, Walent worked for five years at Hyatt Regency Dulles in Herndon, VA, where she assisted in the design and creation of the Executive Meeting Center, a $15 million expansion that added 29,000 square feet of gathering space to the hotel.

Beginning her career at Hyatt as a catering and convention services manager at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa in Colorado, she then was hired as social catering manager at Park Hyatt Washington in D.C., where she continually exceeded expectations. She was next promoted to associate director of sales back at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa.

Walent graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

In her time outside of work, Walent loves doing anything outdoors, working out, experiencing new restaurants and volunteering in the community.
