New General Manager at Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark-Cranford Returns to New Jersey Accommodations

cranfordNewGMCranford, NJ – A long-time hospitality veteran has returned “home” to a hotel where he’s previously served as operations manager and director of sales and marketing.

Vinnie Cicerale has been named the new general manager of Homewood Suites by Hilton Newark-Cranford, managed by Dimension Development. Cicerale was the senior sales manager at The Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, NJ prior to arriving at Homewood Suites.

All of Cicerale’s hospitality experience has been in New Jersey, with a start at the 108 all-suite property that he is now in charge of. He served as operations manager at Homewood Suites before moving to the Aloft hotel in Mount Laurel as assistant general manager. Holiday Inn then tapped him for a corporate sales manager position based in the Somerset market. Cicerale moved to Ocean Place Resort & Spa in July 2011 as a group sales manager before returning to Homewood Suites for his second stint.

“‘Friendship and progress’ is the motto of Cranford, so I’m looking forward to making and meeting lots of new friends who stay here,” Cicerale said. “The progress this hotel has made in the last year with the completion of a major renovation shows Hilton’s commitment to offering travelers a home-like atmosphere for when they are away from their homes for extended business stays. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to take this property to the next level through 2016 and beyond.”

The Cranford hotel near Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is especially attractive to business professionals visiting the corporate offices of L’Oreal, Merck and The Newark Group, which are all nearby. Vacationers also will appreciate the hotel’s complimentary shuttle to a nearby train station that offers direct transit to New York City and Madison Square Garden, just 17 miles away. Comfortable accommodations provide modern amenities and plenty of space to spread out to be as productive or relaxed as guests desire.

In his spare time, Cicerale said he enjoys playing middle infield for multiple slow-pitch softball teams.

Chris Hammons, a 13-year hospitality veteran, takes the helm at the extended-stay Miami hotel, managed by Dimension Development, after serving as general manager at Hilton Garden Inn Austin North in Austin, TX. Hammons will move his family to Southern Florida, where he grew up and said he has many fond memories.

“I will be happy to be close to the beach and teach my son the joys of fishing and surfing, a skill I have yet to master myself,” Hammons said. “I’m also looking forward to working with an exceptional team to take the hotel and brand to a new level of at-home comfort in a really convenient area.”

Hammons has served in a number of hospitality leadership roles, including general manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Austin North/Parmer Lane, Residence Inn Austin South and Fairfield Inn & Suites Austin-University Area. He began his professional career as a front office manager at a beachfront hotel in Panama City, Florida before taking on an assistant general manager position at The Inn at St. Thomas Square in the same city. Hammons said Homewood Suites by Hilton Miami-Airport/Blue Lagoon “has huge potential, and I’m ready to show results through training, fun and processes.” The contemporary hotel encourages short and longer-term stays with suites that feature separate areas for sleeping, living and working. While the property is surrounded by water with lagoons in the front and back, it also boasts a tropical outdoor pool where travelers can soak up the Sunshine State in style.

DoubleTree by Hilton Sunrise – Sawgrass Mills, receives the Outstanding Partner Award for the second year in a row from YMCA Children Services.

“The YMCA children services is an organization that places Physically and Mentally challenged kids (18-21) in various work environments. This is one of the two programs that we work with. The YMCA is a summer program that actually pays the kids to work in various departments of the Hotel. We have them working in Laundry folding towels, and also in our Kitchen bagging cookies, bussing tables and making rollups for the tables.  The goal of the organization is to give the kids an opportunity to be independent. When they turn 21 they age out of the program. We then have the option to hire them. This year we hired one young man in our laundry department. His name is Brian and he is a great addition to our team.” – General Manager Mr. Hilly Adler
